The Bettering Branch

As youths in Singapore with hectic schedules, stemming from a competitive academic & social culture, CCA commitments, and exams that seem to never end, trying to find time to give back to society often equalled sacrificing our academics or health. This also meant not a lot of youths cared very much about giving back to society.

Feeling helpless and unsure of how to solve the growing youth apathy surrounding us, we decided to build what we could not find: a platform that allowed students (like ourselves) to give back, without trading our grades or health, and to empower other youths with the empathy to do the same.

In January 2024, with no funding, mentors or institutional support, driven solely by conviction and a dream, The Bettering Branch was born.

Since then, we have only grown exponentially, surpassing our own expectations and goals. As of our last count, we have mobilised more than 600 volunteers! We look forward to what 2026 brings & to continue branching out for the better!
